About:China Tourist Visa

Hello, I am currently travelling/working in the UK, soon i am planning to take the train from Moscow to Beijing. This will be at the end of October 2009, i have heard that the visa application proceedure for China is changing in september 2009 and you may not need to apply, now that the Olympics are over. Is this the case??? or do i still need to get a visa.

Secondly, Do i have to be in my own country of citizinship to apply (NZ) or can i apply through the chinese embassy in th UK.

YES, you still need to apply for a China visa before entering China. You can apply through the Chinese Embassy in UK if you have the work permit or temporary residence permit of UK.
