Has anybody out there used the overnight sleeper train from Beijing to Xian. What are the cabins like as my wife and myself are travelling? are they private, Which is the correct station in Beijing to to depart from and where do I get tickets.Would somebody alert us to the fact that we are now in Xian. I am concerned that if I am on a sleeper train that I may be asleep when we arrive and miss the stop or is Xian the last stop on the line. Are the trains punctual as I may catch the train back to Beijing and I will have a connecting flight to catch back to the U.K. My travel date is gong to be in August 2009, are the trains busy at this time of year. I will be in Beijing for 3 days before catching the train to Xian is this enough time to purchase train tickets and is it easy to do so.
Many thanks for any help you can offer

Sounds really a miexed trip. If you would like to have a private trip, it is suggested that you should purchase a soft sleeper ticket. Every soft cabin of the train has four spleers.
The trains from Beijing to Xian all depart from Beijing West Railway Station and the ticket could be bought about 10 or 11 days in advance at Beijing Railway Station and Beijing West Railway Station. If you travel in later August, it is a little difficult to get the ticket just 3 days in advance. Because it is the peak time for students returning school.
Regaring you are in Xi'an now, I think you'd better to ask for help from an reliable agency (some tour agency and hotel service this business)either in Beijing or Xi'an.
If you are worry about missing the stop, you could purchase the train of T231, T41 and Z19, all of which depart from Beijing and arrive at terminal of Xi'an.
