About:Chinese Embassy in Indonesia

My wife has an Indonesian passport (and U.S. Green card) and our daughter and I have U.S. passports. We are returning to the US after a family stay in Bali, Indonesia and have airline tickets for a 2 day visitor layover in Taipei. Do we need visas for Taiwan with US or Indonesia passports. If so, can we obtain the visa at the airport upon our arrival?

Unfortunately we did not get this information earlier and are leaving in 5 days.

thks,
Doug
