About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Hi,

I am going to teach abroad in China in a few weeks. I will be getting a Z visa. What are the medical requirements? At the moment, my contract is less than a year. Can I complete my medical exam in China? Is this required for a Z visa? From what I recall, it is required for over a year, and for Z visa to resident permit.

If I do complete my medical in America, is there a specified list of places that I should get it done at?

Background note: I just came back from teaching there for 10 months and was never required to do a medical.

Ms. Linda, the medical examination is required for applicants who apply for Z or X visa and will stay in China for over 6 months.
As for the authorized hospitals, you have to contact the visa office of the China embassy through the following ways
Automatic Voice System : ( 2 0 2 ) 3 3 8 - 6 6 8 8
Service Hotline: (202)337-1956
Fax: ( 2 0 2 ) 5 8 8 - 9 7 6 0

You can ask the embassy/ consulate for the appointed hospitals list.
Medical report is required when you apply for a China work visa.

Below there is some information on the residence permit application procedure diagram. Hope it can help.
