About:China Embassy in Thailand

I have 2 questions-

1- Can a British national get a chinese student visa from the consulate in bangkok as i was told i have to fly all the way back to england, london. I have the acceptance letter from the chinese university already.

2- My second question is what does my girlfriend (who is a thai national) have to show to also get a 3 month visa (i.e how much money in her bank etc!). Does she need to book a hotel for the whole 3 months in advance, as this could be expensive booking from thailand.

Thank you

1. In principle, british can apply for China studetns visa from the consulate in Bangkok, but the rule may change. I advise you contact the Chian embassy in Thailand to confirm this.
2. Your girl friend have t show the following documents:
(I) The original passport with a validity more than six months and enough blank visa pages;
(II) One copy of completed visa application form in Chinese or English (two copies for US citizens), attached with one of the applicant's recent colorful front pictures of upper body (30mm X 40mm)
(III) The certification of the her identity, round-trip ticket or travel check or bank saving statement.
The confirmed hotel booking may be also requried, you can book the hotels through this website and the room rate is the same as that you book in China.
