About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

hi there.

we are two austrian citizens travelling through asia. we are now in Iran/Teheran and want go fourther to china. therefore we want to apply for a tourist-visa (L-visa) in Teheran - if possible for more than 30 days!

besides the passport, application-form and fotos, do we need to show anything more? do we need copy of the flight-tickets? do we need hotel-bookings, if yes, do we need for every night in advance?

You also need provide the flight ticket to China and to the next destination, the hotel booking of every night, copy of valid Iran visa (if available). You can have a try at China Embassy in Teheran, but maybe the visa officers will refuse to accept your application because you are not the residents of Iran (you are tourist, don't have the Iranian residence permit).

Hi again,

as i have the Visa now in my passport I want to write how to get it.
it is no problem for foreigners to get a chines visa in teheran. you just need a copy of the valid iran-visa (which you have to have anyway in your passport when you are in iran)

and then you need an offical letter from the embassy of your home-country. that is also no problem: we just went to our (austrian) embassy and got this letter within half an hour (for about 60$). it says nothing more than that we want to go to china and it looks very offical!

with this letter, the aplication-form (which has to be filled out with computer and printed on just one sheed (front- and backside) of paper, a passfoto and copies of the passport and the iranian visa - we applied for a 3-months double-entery-visa.

we got a 60-days single-entry visa for china two days later!

nobody asked to see copies of flight-tickets or hotel-reservations - so we had not to show any flight-ticket or hotel-bookings
