Did a China passport holder need a visa to enter Bangkok?

Yes, Chinese need a visa to Thailand.

A chinese citizen can apply a visa on arrival when entering Thailand on the airport in Thailand. Duration of the visa is 15 days. Refer also to the webpage of the thai goverment. They display clear rules.
