About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

I am an American hoping to get a tourist visa to China. I will have e-tickets for my entry and exit from China, valid passport with blank visa pages, and a receipt of confirmation from a tour guide. Is it likely that I can obtain a visa in Bangkok? Thank you for your time.

Besides the documents you listed, you also have to provide a completely filled visa application form.
You can apply for the China visa from the China embassy in Bangkok.
