Question

I'll be visiting Hangzhou end of this month.Is it easy to take a bus from hangzhou to Huangshan on my own and upon arrival check into a hotel and only then take up a local tour for sightseeing around Huangshan upon arrival? Or would you advise that I pre-book the hotel and tour ahead? Do you have any recommendation on local tour operator?

For the transportation, please see my answer to Mr. Simon below. As for hotel, I think you could find one when you arrive there. But, it is also very easy to book one online in advance so that you will be worry about it any more.
