About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

Please would you advise me whether my son and his travelling companions will need to apply for a visa to visit China in September. Their plans are to travel first to Kuala Lumpar and from there to Shanghai. At present they have only booked a one way flight ticket with no return as they are unsure of their onward plans from Shanghai - will they be able to get a visa on this basis. At present they are satying in Rome until early September and will be able to visit your embassy if necessary.

Thank you

Thank you for your reply but would you clarify whether they will be allowed in to China (Shanghai) without a Visa and if they have to apply for the visa in Kuala Lumpar will they need to have their outward flights pre-booked?

They do need a visa to enter shanghai, China. The air tickets to Shanghai are necessary for the China visa application, but they can just just buy the tickets after they fixed their trip.
