hi. i'm joseph from cameroon. i've been staying overstay in china for more than 4 years because i didin't have enought money to pay for my visa and also a chinese man cheated on me.
will the chinese immigration will keep me in jail if my embassy help me to go out of the country after paying the punishment fee?

you won't be put into jail, but you will be prohibited to enter China permanently because you have overstayed for such a long time, 4 years

hi. my friend has been overstaying in china since 2007. if he decides to go home now, what does she need to do? will he be imprisoned? and how much is the fine?

Meg, she should report herself to local PSB as soon as possible. I am afraid that she will pay a certain amount of fine and then deported out of China. In the future, she may not visit China anymore. If she can't pay the fine, she may be detained for around 15 days, I guess.
