Hi,

Can I use credit card to purchase or pay for an "on loan" octopus card at the Airport?

Yes, as I know it can be paid by cerdit card. But still suggest take some HKD with you. There is different kind of Octopus card. It seems the 300HKD card including round trip express line and all MTR fee within three days can be purchased by credit card.
