About:Chinese Embassy in Singapore

Hi
I m a Swiss National starting to work in SG next week.
I had the intention to go Shanghai and visiting friends on August 7.
My problem is that, as a Swiss, I need a visa to enter China.
What do I need to apply for the visa? Do I have to show up at the embassy myself? How long does it take to get the visa?
Thanks a lot

You need the following documents to apply for the visa:
1. One completely filled out Visa Application Form.
2. One recently taken passport photo. Please affix the photo to the application form.
3. Singapore PR.EP.WP. (Original and photocopy) or Embarkation card.
4. One photocopy of air ticket.
5. hotel booking respectively (If you will stay at your friend's home, you can ask your friend in China to provide you an invitation letter instead).
You'd better go to the embassy to apply for the visa in person, while you can entrust some one else to process it for you as well.
It usually takes 4 working days for the China embassy to issue a visa.
