Dear Sir/Madame

I am an Australian Citizen living in Brisbane, currently seeking to gain a single entry Visa to China. I am travelling to China from South Korea, before returning home to Brisbane from Beijing (via connecting flights through Shanghai and Sydney).

While this site has been very helpful, my complication results from the Korean tour group I will be travelling with in China, which will not accept bookings more than one month in advance; by which time I will no longer be in Brisbane to lodge my Visa application.

I have noted the Visa application for a tourist visa requires listing the tour group/hotel you are travelling with, and I wont have this information before I leave Australia.

I have confirmation of my flight from Beijing, and do not intend to travel from Beijing further than a day trip to the Great Wall in my short (3-4 day) stay in China. Will this information suffice for China to grant my an entry visa?

Actually, you can ask the travel agency of Korea whose tour group you will take part in to apply for the china visa for you.

Thank you for your reply. I have investigated the group tourist visa you recommended, but as I will not be leaving China with the tourist group and intend to stay two days on my own, I still believe I may need my own visa.

Will a tour itinerary, along with an exit flight ticket (but without entry flight ticket) but sufficient if I can provide detail of my anticipated entry to China?

The return air ticket is also one of the necessary documents for China tourist visa application. You have to contact the consulate general of China in Brisbane for help through the contacts listed on this webpage above, since your issue is a little bit complicated.
