I just want to tell you that the monks who are living in the monastery don't see any yuan of this exorbitant entrance fee, it all goes to the government (the monks told this to a friend of mine). I find this very disturbing as Buddhism clearly states that no money should be charged for anything related to this religion. The Chinese government doesn't support religions but takes a lot of money from tourists for seeing the monastery. I didn't visit the monastery as I don't want to support this system.

I find it so fascinating that most of you on this forum are so cheap to justify any excuse not to pay the entry fee. Guess where they get the money for the temple, infrastructure and maintenances? In case you don’t know, the fees collected are far from enough to run the temple and feed the monks. Where you think rest of the money comes from????

All visitors (Chinese or foreigners) are required to pay entrance fee, locals and pilgrims are free. Fell better now that you didn’t pay ; - )

The middle part of the monastery is being rebuilt. A lot of construction is happening at the temple. Who is paying for these constructions???
