Hi Norman;

Thanks for your reply. Actually i am thaught of travel on the way up Dali-Lijiang and Shangrila, than by flight to Kunming from Shangrila.There is really long journey from Xichang to Dali, perhaps i have to sort out my itinerary again.Anyway thanks again for your kind attention.

there is no direct transportion from Xichang to Dali.what Norman told is actually the only option you have if you wanna start from Xichang.
make LuKu lake as your first destination then Lijiang,Shangarila and Dali.there are coaches, flights and trains from Dali to Kunming and it will take you 4 hrs if you take bus.
btw,if you arrive at Xichang on Aug 14 you can join the celebration of "Huobajie"(Torch Festival)of Yi people there.enjoy yourself.
