Is there a big choice of day tour companies in and around Shanghai?
What are the prices like in US dollars and is it best to book in advance?

There are lots of travel agents in Shanghai but it's not easy to pick up a good one. As you have only one day tour, it's no big deal to book in advance or on the spot. But you'd better spare some time to choose a good tour company. good luck.
