About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

I have a US citizen but Chinese native, I plan on visiting China for two weeks; because this is a spur of moment trip I will not have time to go to my closest embassy to get my visa which is in Chicago. I plan to land in Hong Kong and get my Chinese visa there then go to Shenzhen.

My father has always gotten his visa in Hong Kong and said it was no problem for him. I just want to make sure there will not be any diffculties once I arrive in Hong Kong. Will there be any reason they would deny my entry to China?
