About:China Visa

Hi,

I am a Canadian citizen who will be studying in China this coming September. I intend to study two years in Beijing. I've already applied for a X visa which is only valid for 3 months with one single entry. On my acceptance letter from the university, it is mentionned that I am accepted for the academic year from August 31 2009 to June 2010. My questions are; 1) Can I buy a one-way ticket to Beijing without any problem or must I have a return ticket with a specific date? 2) Can I apply for a residence permit without I return ticket?

Thank you

(1) Yes, you can enter China by your one-way ticket, X visa and passport, you don't need a return ticket.
(2) You can apply for a residence permit with your X visa, passport and the acceptance letter of the university after you enter China.
