About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

Am I imagining this, or was the post I just put here about a transit visa, deleted? I am a UK citizen visiting Seoul, and want to travel to Thailand and back to Seoul, passing through Beijing on an Air China ticket that requires a layover of 5 hours. Do I need a transit visa? Thanks.

You don't need a transit visa if you just stay within the airport.

Mr Andrew, Are you sure? I have friends who have needed transit visas just to enter the airport and leave without touching foot on non-airport soil.

I'm sure you don't need any visa if you just stay in the airport for less than 24 hours when transiting Beijing.
