Hello, how far is Huanglong from central Chengdu ? Can we take public transport (taxi) there from central Chengdu and what would the fare be ? Is it a place that I can take my two young children, age 3 and 7, and my dad who is 70 years old ?

From Chengdu to Huanglong, the best transportation is the airplane. The Jiuhuang airport is located between Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. The airport is 80 kilometers from Jiuzhaigou and 40 kiometers from Huanglong. If you go to Huanglong from the airport, you can charter a minibus. The bus fare is more than CNY100. By the way, the flight from Chengdu to Jiuhuang airport costs about 35 minutes and the cost is around CNY700. Anyway, it’s more comfortable to take a flight than a bus, as the road condition is not good. It’s a little bumpy. The bus trip from Chengdu to Huanglong takes around 10 hours. If you think it the cost is too expensive, actually, you may charter a minibus in Chengdu to go to Huanglong. The cost is more than CNY1000.
