Hi, new year is one of the hote tourism seasons in Hong Kong. But you could purchase goods at very satisfying discount price. The hotel rate may be a little higher than down season, the difference is about 100~200HK$/night for a 3-star hotel. The food price should be the same as usual. The travelers are not as many as these during the Christmas.

March is the not a popular season in HK but the airfare and hotel rate may be cheap enough. Just for your reference~
