You might want to get the address and hotel name written in Chinese. It makes the taxi ride easier. You can usually e-mail the concierge at the hotel for that information.Taxis are relatively inexpensive in Shanghai but you should know that rates go up after 11:00. Be sure to have them put the meter down. Most taxis are very reliable.

definitely a taxi- they are pretty cheap, and also write the address in chinese, just copy it as you see it- its pretty easy to do
