I was told you cannot take pictures inside. Is that correct?

You can take pictures. But I suggust you do not use flash.

If you take pictures using flash, the warriors come to life and take over the world. I sugest you don't use flash, unless you want to be responsible for the destruction of life on earth.

Hah! You're not supposed to take flash pictures there or any type of pictures in museums, but the Chinese ignore the signs totally. They will take flash photography right in front of the guards.
