Hello Ms. A, the gardens in Suzhou are private gardens, not like these imperial garden in Beijing, such as Beihai and the Summer Palace. But, the Suzhou classical gardens are very beautiful, too. Starting from Shanghai, you could take a bullet train from Shanghai Railway Station to arrive at Suzhou in 40 minutes. Out of Suzhou Railway Station, please take a city-bus or a taxi to drive you to one of the gardens. Well, I found that this website has introduced these Suzhou gardes in detail, please choose one for you: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/jiangsu/suzhou/
