About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

My wife is a U.S. Citizen of Chinese descent. Her parents came to the United States in the 1930's and are both deceased. My wife was born in Los Angeles in 1946. She has her passport and birth certificate. We cannot obtain any documents related to her parents. Will there be a problem with a visa application for her?

Are her passport and birth certificate American? If so, we can say that she is a pure American. Thus, there won't be a problem when applying for the visa.
