Thankyou Mrs Wong for reply to my email re nanning trains. Is it high season now and what is the best place to buy a ticket and what is the price for hard seat or hard sleeper.I think the travel agents charge a fee to buy tickets too but is that a better way to go.I am also staying in shanghai for one night and will be seeking budget accomodation or hostel if available. Thanks again Stvizer

You will stay over night in Shanghai and you can get to the ticket office to buy the train for the next day. It is not the very high season now. Students is going to be on holiday early July, it may somehow affects. Travel agent will charges extra fee (50-100 yuan as I know) to buy a ticket for you.
Ticket fare:
Hard seat: 231 yuan
hard sleeper: 418 yuan (lower sleeper)
