Hi, Im a Chinese recently staying in china. My friend in Ireland is coming to visit me. Id like to invite my friend to stay in my home. In this case, he may not b able to provide a hotel booking confirmation when applying th visa. Does dat matter? Or should i write provide anythng for help?

If he will stay with you, you can provide an invitation letter enclosed with your valid address and contacts in China instead.
