May I add that Tangua could be TangXua meaning China Mountain (in direct translation) or our China homeland. Amoy(Fujian pronounced) is also Xiamen (Mandarin pronounced).

Tangua (in Hokkien) means Tong-An (in Mandarin). It is a city adjacent to Xiamen.

My great great grand father also came from Tangua (Tong'an) but we lost all information thereafter. Only know he was a merchant and had a long pig tail.

I am very interested to find my roots in Tong'an China but to no avail cos' my late father did not have much information of his grandfather and therefore we lost all information of our chinese ancestry. We are from the family of Teo or Zhang (currently use in China). We are hokkien and have been living in Sibu Sarawak East Malaysia (Borneo Island) Anybody with information will be greatly appreciated.
