About:Chinese Embassy in Singapore

I am a Canadian citizen who has revoked Singapore PR status, and wishes to come to Singapore on a visit (currently in Shanghai). Since I am currently on a single-entry Chinese visa, I wish to reapply for a Student visa (X) while in Singapore as I wish to take a summer course in China. Is there anything in particular I should take note of? I plan to stay for a week in Singapore.
