About:Chinese Embassy in Singapore

We are visit Wuhan (China) via Shenzen on 19 Jun 09, then from wuhan
we would like to visit Hang zhou then Shanghai which takes only 1 weeks.

Please advise the following:

1) Any visa application requires Hang zhou and Shanghai travelling by train.
2) My passport expire on 22 Oct 09 which have a validality less than 6 mths
does I need to apply for new passport. If so, I will have a issue with
ticket which purchase under old passport.
3) Pls advise an alternative to solve this issue, an extension of validity
to the new passport possible ?

Awaiting your expedite reply urgently, appreciate the authority can reply
by 15 Jun 09.

1), singaporean passport holders are free of visa if they just vitit mainland China for less than 15 days.
2). For your passport, you can just apply for an extension of validity to China.

Most countries that issue visas require that the passport is valid for 6 months beyond that visa period. Yes, no visa required for SG passport holders to CN for less than 15 days.

There is no need to show passport or whatever, to travel via train within China. Just Mao on the 100Y bills will do!

Having a plane tix issued to your old passport, should you apply and travel with a new valid passport shouldn't be a problem. You will still have your old, now cancelled, passport as IDENTIFICATION, correct?So, what's the issue?
