Thanks for the previous posts.  I have found many to be helpful. I have a question regarding travel from Tianjin to Hong Kong.  I understand that I might be able to take a day long train.  Is this correct?  If So, how much is the cost?  Also, the cost for flights to Hong Kong with larger airline runs around $800 US dollars online.  Are there cheaper domestic flights with smaller airlines once I get to Tianjin?

It seems there is not train from Tianjin to Hong Kong. You should make a transfer at Guangzhou or Shenzhen. As the train from Beijing to Hong Kong, the train will run nearly 24 hours, a whole day and the ticket price is about 600-700 odd for soft sleeper. As for the airlines, how about Dragonair?!Hope it helps.
