About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Why does it cost 15,000 Yen for a Visa for an American citizen and only 4,000 Yen for a passport holder from another country?

Because the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in China have raised the visa fee. On a reciprocal basis, the Chinese Embassy will make an adjustment of visa fee for U.S. citizens since January 20, 2008
