I go to Shenzhen and Guangzhou on business several times a year and fly through Hong Kong, a nicely British-built airport but administered by arrogant and rude local Hong Kong people now. The place has become so dirty, not to mention everything is over priced. What is the best way to go to Shenzhen from Sydney without passing through Hong Kong?

What a rash generalisation that Hong Kong locals are arrogant and rude. As for Hong Kong being dirty, I would say that it is the same as any big city. Especially after SARS and swine flu, authorities there are much more cautious when it comes to standards of cleanliness.

As for things being overpriced, I never knew that things in Australia was so cheap in comparison.
