We're planning to visit China in either Jan or Feb. New Year begins Feb 7 2008. Some sites say it lasts 15 days? Are stores, restaurants and sites open? Closed for a few days? What effect will the celebration have on sightseeing?

DEAR MJ, actually the shops are not only open for operating, there also provide more discout during the festival. However, it doesn't last 15 days, generally one week according the general holiday. As for sightseeing, there will be no influence. At most the sites will be decorated more beautiful. :)
