About:China Train

I read lots of tips and comments on the website and got known that for long distance train travel, the soft sleeper train is the best choice. I know generally there are 4 bunks in each comparment, but we are a family of 5 people, how can we arrange the tickets? Do we need to buy two whole compartments? Any better way to follow? BTW, we would like to train from Beijing to Xian and back.

What you need to do is to get five tickets. You don't have to buy two compartments if you don't want to. There is hard sleeper in China and six bunks in each comparment. But I don't think it's a good idea... Maybe you could get three for in one compartment and two in another one. You can always change the bunks after you get on the train... But one suggestion is that if you want to change it on the train, make sure that the destinations are the same...
