It is possible. In addition to the valid passport, photo, application form, air tickets and hotel booking, you are also required to show a Swiss visa or residence permit.

I do not have a swiss visa since i am British and not working there, just travelling, will i still be able to apply there?

Mr C, There is a document equivalent to a visa as you enter the border. I assume it is okay for you to apply in Switzerland. Just enquire the officers about the requirements.
