About:China Embassy in Thailand

I'm Chinese citizen from Beijing, my finace is American. We plan to get married in Bangkok.

I already have my single status affidavit issued by a notary public authenticated by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affaires and the Thai Consulate in Beijing. What else do I need in order to obtain the Affirmation of Freedom to Marry from the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok?

The Chinese Embassy website says that I need to bring two Thai witnesses and two Chinese witnesses, which seems impossible for me to do as we don't know anybody in Thailand and bring two Chinese witnesses along with us to Bangkok is quite expensive.
Do we really have to have the four witnesses present in the Chinese Embassy in order to obtain the Affirmation of Freedom to Marry?

Thank you!

Jane

You said "the Chinese embassy in Thailand requires you to have four witnesses present in order to obtain the sngle-status affirmation. As I know, there is no such a requirement in other Chinese embassy overseas. Try to make a call to the embassy. The information on the embassy's website may be outdated.
