About:China Embassy in Thailand

Is it still possible to get a China work visa in a country other than your own? I am an American who wants to get a China work visa in the Bangkok embassy. If I have all my paper work can I retreive a work visa? Do I physically have to be there? How long does the process take? How much does it cost?

It is still possible to get a China Z visa out of your home country, but some embassy requires you to hold a residence permit of that country where you apply for Chinese Z visa. I often heard that many expats apply for China Z visa in Hong Kong.
