About:Chinese Embassy in Singapore

Dear All,

I am in Singapore on an Employment Pass and I would like to travel early next to China on a tourist visa. I only just realised that this Thursday and Friday are public holidays in China and that the embassy will be closed those two days. I didn't think this would be a problem as I understood that there was an express service available. However my travel agent informs me that this is no longer an option and that I must wait the full 4 business days. Does anyone know if the express service is still available and if it is available for tourist visas?

Thank

Sam

Mr.Sam, as far as know, maybe the express service is temporarily put into abeyance because of swine flu. However, I can't find official news realeased by Chinese embassy in Singapore

Hi All,

I just got back from the Chinese Embassy in Singapore. They are no longer doing expedited visas (i.e. 1-day turn around) apparently due to swine flu concerns. They are however doing a 3 business day service and they are open this Sunday (31 May 2009). That means you can apply for your visa today and collect it on Sunday if you choose the 3 day service (Thursday and Friday are holidays). If you apply tomorrow (Wednesday) than you can collect on Monday if you choose the 3 day service.

There were a lot of people there today that were very dissapointed that they could not collect their visas tomorrow using a 1-day service.

Thanks

Sam
