HiChin, there are lots of city-buses in Guangzhou leading to the White Cloud Mountain directly. Here are some for your reference:
To the south gate of the mountain: 24, 63, 240, 258, 46, 60, 175, 179, 127, 199, 223, 241, 257, 522, 540, 890, Tour Special Line 1, Tour Special Line 3.
To the west gate of the mountain: 36, 76, 127, 223, 265, 274, 529, 895, 864, 8910
