About:Lingering Garden

I'm a French student in China and I want to travel to Japan in july, but if I go to Japan I can't go back to China (I've got a visa F with only one entry already used for my entry from France to China). My university said to me that I had to make another visa in Japan to come back in China. I would like to kinow if it is really possible and which document I have to give to the ambassy in order to have this visa which would allow me to go back in China (and what kind of visa I have to ask for). It's really annoy me at this time, and I really would like to know if I can go to Japan without worrying about my return in China.

Thank you very much!

Liz

You can go to Japan and then apply for an L visa for China at the Chinese embassy or consulates in Japan.

Thank you for your answer, but I read somewhere that to apply for a L visa we have to be resident of Japan... But I'm not a resident! Is it true or can we apply for a l visa even if we are not a resident? If we really can, which documents to we have to give? Thanx very much!

The embassy's site does say that
Tourism Visa (L) to the Chinese mainland
(ONLY FOR THE ALIENS HOLDING JAPANESE LONG-STAY VISA(MORE THAN ONE YEAR).
Check the site:
http://www.china-embassy.or.jp/chn/lsfw/qzyw/t331452.htm#E4

I am not sure how does the application work in reality. Anyone has the experience?

That is on that site that I saw that we have to be a resident... And it is not very clear if it really works like this, maybe the site is not updated and this rule has changed... I hope so! I tried to call the embassy (from China, so really expensive)to know , but nobody answered, or it is an automatic voice :/ (and my chinese is not really good)... I would like to know so much if I really can have a L visa! (Or maybe a F visa if I can give again the documents from my university, even if my semester is ending soon :/)... I'm waiting, and I'm worry!
