Does everybody have to show them money to get the visa?  Are travellers cheks acceptable?Is it really neccessary to have hotel reservation before you apply?  Want to travel to Beijing for four days and Xian for two.  Do I really have to prove that I have a hotel booked for all 6 days?  What if I want to find a hotel on arrival?

For some countries' nationals, the requirements are very strict. The bank statements and hotel reservatio are just optional.
