About:T Trains

I plan to visit Xishuangbanna in August VIA connect flight from Chiang Mai airport to Jinghong Airport. Are there any flight from Chiang Mai to Jinghong? Do I need to get a VISA to inter Xishuangbanna? If so where is the consulate office that I can purchase the Visa?

It seems that there is no flight from Chiang Mai to Jinghong currently. So, transfer is needed.
Yes, visa is required when you enter into China. The China Visa could be applied at the Chinese Embassy in Thailand. For the details, see here: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/thailand.htm

No direct flight. The Chiang Mai Airport has flight to Kunming, China. Then, you could fly from Kunming to Jinghong. But the airfare to Kunming is somewhat expensive~
