Yes, the second paragraph is really confusing. Actually, Emperor Yang is the grandfather of Emperor Gong. In 618,Li Yuan led his army to enter Chang'an and conquer the capital of Sui. Emperor Yang was killed. After that, Li Yuan asked Yang You to be his puppet emperor (Emperor Gong). In 619, Emperor Gong died. He was only 15 years old when he died.
