About:Chinese Embassy in Nepal

I am a teacher at the Lincoln School in Kathmandu and am a United States citizen. On June 24th I plan on flying to Lhasa with my bicycle as luggage and then return to Kathmandu after 15-18 days of cycling. How long will it take to get a Visa? When should I apply? Since I am single, will you accept the $100 payment in Traveler's Checks or rupees?

For visiting Tibet, you need not only a Chinese visa but also a Tibet Travel Permit issued from Tibet Tourist Bureau. It takes four working days to have a Chinese visa approved.
