About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

To whom it may concern
i am enquiring if i need a tourist visa for a one night stop over in China.
i will be onroute to Nth Korea to participate in a sporting event (volleyball) and i have been informed that i may have to stay one night in China so as the Nth Korean embassy can issue me with a visa to enter Nth Korea.
I am a permanent resident of Japan and an Australian passport holder.
If i require a visa can i obtain one if i visit the chinese consulate in Fukuoka on Thursday?
What is the total cost if a visa is required?
I dont have any travel documents yet from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) but i have an official fax confirming travel dates etc from the FIVB.
If i have to stop over in China i have been told Nth Korea will organise everything for me.
I am sorry this is all at short notice so i need to obtain a visa if required tomorrow.
thank you for your assistance
David

You hold Australian passport. Which airport are you going to transit through? At the Pudong Airport, you can enjoy visa-free transit within 48 hours and you can leave the airport. For transiting through Beijing Capital International Airport, you can stay only for 24 hour without leaving the transit area.

Hello Mr. Han
Thank you for your prompt reply to my question.
Mr.Han the rush is now off the course will be held sometime in either June or July.
I will receive my travel information to Nth Korea in the coming weeks.
As i have to get my entry visa for Nth Korea in China i am assuming that the Nth Korean Embassy is in Beijing.
so it looks like i will need to get a visa from the Chinese Consulate in Fukuoka.
Mr.Han can you please tell me the cost of the visa?
Once again thank you for your assistance
