We plan to visit Beijing in late August. Do tours to the major sights like the Great Wall and Terracotta army operate at that time?

Well, late August is very hot in Beijing. In Beijing, you can go to see the Badaling Great Wall, Mutianyu Great Wall or Simatai Great Wall. However, the Terracotta Army is not in Beijing. It;s in Xian. If you want to see that, you should go from Beijing to Xian.
