About:Chinese Consulate in Melbourne

Hi. i am travelling to China in late June and while there i will be staying at a mates place who is working in china My question is what are the requirements and what documentation do i need to gain a visa to visit China as a tourist.
I will be in China for 6 Days

Hand in the following documents:
1.An actual passpoprt, which must have at least six months validity left before expiration and at least one blank visa page
2.A passport-size photo affixed to a duly filled application form
3.Proof of round-trip flight tickets
