i am from india and will be travelling to hongkong. then i need to go to china. can i get the visa fromhongkong.

Yes, you can get a visa for mainland China when you are in Hong Kong.

You would be better to get the visa in India if you can as the rules re the granting of visas in Hk have been tightened and there is a POSSIBILITY that you might be refused.
